The Rautins-House Basketball School has been successfully operating for fourteen years. However, Leo Rautins and Tony House boast over fifty years of basketball experience between them. Whether it is playing, teaching, coaching, promoting or broadcasting the game of basketball, these names are synonymous with excellence in the sporting community. Leo Rautins is one of the best basketball players ever to come out of Canada. He is known as a pioneer and opened many doors for the likes of Steve Nash, Todd McCulloch and Jamal Magliore, current Canadians playing in the NBA. Leo had a fantastic career as captain of the Syracuse University Orangemen, culminating in the first Canadian ever drafted in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers. Leo has also competed for Canada in many events including playing against the original “Dream Team” in the Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Leo is currently the “Voice” of the NBA in Canada. He is not only the color analyst of the Toronto Raptors appearing on Rogers Sportsnet and NBA on TSN. He also lends himself to special projects such as “Basketball City” and “Raptors TV” Tony House born and raised in Ottawa was one of the premier players out of this city. Selected as an Ontario High School All-Star, Tony was also voted MVP of the Ottawa-Carleton High School All-Star Classic.
Tony was starting Point Guard for the Nationally ranked University of Manitoba and was a two-time GPAC All-Star. Tony attended two National Team and one Olympic Team try-out for his collegiate career. Tony’s expertise was also called upon in the broadcasting world. He began as a color analyst working for Rogers Community 22 presenting local High School and University Championship games. Tony was approached by Sportsnet and worked two nationally televised “Reebok Invitational” the Canadian High School Championships. Tony was also a featured studio analyst on Sportsnet’s NCAA “Road to the Final Four”. He is currently the basketball analyst for the TEAM 1200 with his “House on Hoops”.
